Waterparks are finally heading back Down Under, announcing their biggest Australian headline tour yet for February 2027. The Houston pop-rock troublemakers are bringing their No No No No No tour to five cities, with UK alt-pop firebrand girli and Australian rising star Maple’s Pet Dinosaur along for the ride.
It’s been three years since Awsten Knight, Geoff Wigington and Otto Wood last hit Australian stages, and they’ve been busy. With six albums, more than a billion streams and a reputation for mixing pop-punk, electronic music and just about anything else they fancy, Waterparks have never been particularly interested in playing by the rules.
Their latest album, JINX, keeps that unpredictable streak alive, with TELL ME WHY featuring an unlikely cast that includes Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and composer Danny Elfman. It’s another reminder that Waterparks are perfectly happy to throw the genre rulebook out the window.
Australian fans know what they’re in for. The band’s 2023 headline tour sold out across the country, with demand forcing a Melbourne venue upgrade from 170 Russell to the Forum. Now they’re back for an even bigger run, kicking off at Melbourne’s Forum on 14 February before heading to Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane.
And the supports are worth getting in early for. British alt-pop artist girli returns after her 2024 Australian tour, bringing her sharp-edged pop and unapologetic lyrics, while 16-year-old Maple’s Pet Dinosaur continues a remarkable rise that began with a viral debut filmed on a Ring doorbell camera. She’s already played SXSW Sydney and made history as the youngest artist to perform at Good Things Festival.
With three acts that aren’t afraid to make some noise, this promises to be one seriously entertaining night out.
