PREMIERE: Piers Thibault streams compelling debut EP ‘Ire’


Having put himself on the Backseat Mafia radar last month with the devastatingly beautiful debut single ‘Dusk’, Piers Thibault’s forthcoming EP has been the subject of repeated listening when we’ve been in search of some gorgeous piano-driven instrumental music to take us out of ourselves for 15 minutes or so. It’s very good at that.

If you’re looking for the same thing, then read on. Of the EP, Thibault says, “I’m excited for people to get a little bit deeper in my mind; as unsettling as it is, it’s almost a relief to now share these emotions with the world.” We get it – he’s been sitting on this one for a little while. It could have been finished a year ago, but some refinement makes Ire hit even harder.

Full of the love, loss and longing that he’s endured over the past five years, these five pieces speak for themselves with words deemed unnecessary. We’re exclusively streaming Ire in its entirety ahead of its release tomorrow via insrt. Dive in below:
