Premiere: Sunshine Coast’s Dr Mann unveil psychedelic video for ‘Ciggies’: a smoky, hazy joyful fugue.

We are very pleased to premiere the video for that paean to desire and yearning, ‘Cigges’, from Sunshine Coast’s Dr Mann.

We said of the single that it is a smooth and enticing slice of trippy, psychedelic indie pop blended with a hint of Americana that is imbued with a laid back and dreamy unfiltered flow. It is a track that positively oozes with carnal desire. Backing female vocals add an exotic, languid air.

The video, directed by Kristen of Kove Media, cloaks itself with the tone and vibe of the track with great aplomb. Bleached out super-eight montages of the band playing and having childish fun reveal the easy camaraderie in the band and the inherent sense of humour in the track. Psychedelic shiftings and double vision enhance the sense of blurred reality and hippy, trippy feel:

Dr Mann are proving to be an outfit that exudes a lackadaisical antipodean charm with a self-deprecatory sense of larrikin humour and an ability to create songs perfect for a long lazy afternoon by the beach without a care in the world. Except for missing a certain mind-enhancing stimulus, of course.

‘Ciggies’ is available here and through all the usual download and streaming sites.
