Premiere: The Immigrants from Sydney set sail with a cathartic hard rock blast on ‘Saturday Night’

The Immigrants from Sydney don’t believe in a delicacy of approach: their new single ‘Saturday Night’ has all the power and presence of a battering ram and the very cathartic aural impact of thundering guitars and growling, whiskey-soaked vocals. Who needs nuanced delicacy when you can just rock. We are very pleased to premiere this slice of hard rock magic here in Backseat Mafia before its release on 23 April 2021. Listen and enjoy.

This is a track with an immense thump: a highly enjoyable hard rock blast with a shuddering head bang, brain cells be damned. The themes are gratifyingly just as unassuming – a sort of an appreciative black magic woman warning and a crazy night out on the tiles.

Really, this is pure medicine – a veritable shot in the arm – for a world slowly emerging from the strictures of lockdown. It’s hedonistic fun in a hard rock garb: leather and denim and a jolly good time. As explosive as, well, a pent up release, if you see what I mean. There are no pretensions, no guile – simple and highly enjoyable rock with a wicked glint in the eyes.

The accompanying video of the band in full flight is appropriate: no frills, just a band enjoying the thrill of performance and the cathartic joy of some shuddering, driving rock:

Terrific energising stuff.

‘Saturday Night’ is out through Bueno Bueno Sounds on 23 April 2020 – you can access the track on that date via the usual downloading/streaming sites or through here. The Immigrants are Darren Browne ( Guitar, Lead Vocals), SuZen Raj Bajracharya  (Bass), Lucas Tolentino (Drums) and Nazo Nazarian (Lead Guitar).
