With a debut late last year with single ‘Dumbshit’ followed up by ‘Dramatic’, Sydney-based duo Cat and Calmell have been establishing quite a bit of interest in Australia and beyond. On the announcement of their live debut in Sydney, the duo have released a video for the track ‘Dramatic’ – a stunning, shadowy feature that matches the languid sensuality of the song in a stripped back and acoustic version.
With sparse atmospheric instrumentation, the vocals are delicately intertwined and mesmerising: perfectly captured in the simple but intriguing video. There is an entire universe’s worth of attitude and cool delivery:

Cat and Calmell have a rich history of performing together. Cat spent her childhood in China and moved to Sydney as a young teenager. Calmell was born and raised in Western Sydney. The combination has resulted in something quite special that sits somewhere between Billie Eilish and Lorde.
