The highly acclaimed, grammy-winning, electronic wunderkind Flume has unveiled the new video for Sirens feat. Caroline Polachek. The song, co-written and co-produced by Danny L Harle, is taken from the forthcoming new LP, Palaces, out 20 May on Future Classic. Music from the album will feature for the first time ever in Flume’s Coachella set this weekend and next, ahead of the Flume World Tour. Kicking off inApril, the artist will play Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and two sold-out nights at Red Rocks, as well as headlining several festivals. The UK/Europe leg of the tour in summer will take in London, Berlin and Paris, as well as festival appearances at Pohoda Festival, Dour Festival and Super Bock Super Rock. Supporting acts include Floating Points, Channel Tres, Tinashe, Magdalena Bay and more.
Sirens, which was praised as “heavenly” by The New York Times Playlist, follows Palaces’first offering ‘Say Nothing‘ (feat. Byron Bay singer/songwriter MAY-A) released in February to much acclaim. The album features an exciting array of worldwide vocalists and collaborators including Damon Albarn, Madrid’s Virgen Maria, France’s Oklou and fellow Australian Kučka.
Palacestook shape following Flume’s return to Australia, after he struggled to write music in Los Angeles at the start of the pandemic. From a coastal town in New South Wales, he soon found inspiration by reconnecting with the surrounding nature. He and his neighbour, longtime collaborator and visual artist Jonathan Zawada, started collecting field recordings of the local wildlife, some of which ended up on the album.
The perfectly ethereal video for Sirens was directed by filmmaker Daniel Askill (Sia, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney) and styled by Dion Lee.
