Stronger is the new track from LA-based Gothic Tropic, essential the brainchild of guitarist and songwriter Cecilia Della Peruti, who earns an honest crust away from Gothic tropic as a touring and session player for Charli XCX, BØRNS, and more. Her extraordinary ability has seen sponsorship deals with Fender and the like, and she brings her guitar chops into play in stronger.
Built on some DIY punkish riffs and drum patterns, her warm vocal softens the planet a bit as she delivers this sparkling melody, while also picking out these stabbing accompanying lines. As the track hits the chorus, so everything becomes longer with piano and synths laying down a gentle ripple as the vocals sweep over the top.
One to watch. Check out the Erik Donley directed accompanying video, which features Della Peruit in action, both with her weapon of choice (the guitar I mean, clearly) and riding her motorbike – note: I don’t know if it is hers, but I’d wager girls like Cecilia Della Peruti have motorbikes.
