Montreal-based singer-songwriter and musician Peter Sagar, is perhaps best known as the former guitarist for Mac DeMarco’s live band. Here in his guise as ‘Homeshake’ a new musical project, Sagar unveils the new video for ‘Every Single Thing’. Taken from his current album ‘Fresh Air’ out on Sinderlyn now ‘Every Single Thing’ continues Sagar’s exploration of dreamy, downtempo bedroom R&B and draws inspiration from such disparate artists like Sade, The Band, Broadcast, Prince, and Angelo Badalamenti. The promo has a spooky Grand Theft Auto San Andreas cut scene styling to it as well as some seductive slow motion symmetry to the choreographed story telling. Its stoney subtlety is nonetheless hypnotic and beguiling.
Speaking about the video Homeshake said “My mind wanders a lot, often overtop of someone else speaking to me. It’s a bad habit, and I can’t seem to shake it” and that “his songs were created to clear his listeners’ minds of negativity”. Full of smokey, laid back love songs and airy productions Homeshake is one for fans of Les Sins, Toro Y Moi and the tongue in cheeky end of Company, Grand Central and Death Row productions.
