A Perfect Circle are properly back in motion. The Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel-led band have released new single To Whom It May Concern, their second new track this year, while announcing a sprawling North American tour for 2027.
The new song follows Starless, which has just reached number one at US Active Rock radio, and was written earlier this year before being recorded at Howerdel’s Lankershim Ranch Studio in Studio City. Howerdel produces, Matty Green handles the mix and longtime A Perfect Circle collaborator Josh Freese returns behind the drums.
Two new songs in relatively quick succession is notable territory for a band whose periods of silence have sometimes stretched for years. Since forming in Los Angeles in 1999, A Perfect Circle have operated according to their own peculiar timetable, with Howerdel and Keenan remaining the constants through changing line-ups, extended hiatuses and the competing demands of Tool, Puscifer and their various other projects.
Before that 2027 North American run begins, Australian audiences get their turn. A Perfect Circle and Puscifer arrive here in December for shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, with the latter getting two dates in very different surroundings: Carriageworks on December 10 followed by the already sold-out TikTok Entertainment Centre on December 11.
The Australian dates form part of a broader run through Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and Japan that eventually finishes in Honolulu on December 19.
Then A Perfect Circle head straight into another substantial touring year. Their newly announced North American run begins in Vancouver on April 13, 2027 and stretches through to Phoenix on June 13, taking in Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Hollywood Bowl and arenas across the US and Canada.
Keenan will be doing double duty for the opening section, with Puscifer joining A Perfect Circle across the Canadian dates and Detroit. The Cult take over support duties for the remaining US shows.
After years in which an A Perfect Circle sighting could feel like waiting for a comet to come around again, 2026 looks decidedly different. Two new songs, an Australian tour and another extensive run already locked in for 2027 suggest this particular circle is staying active for a while.
