Track: Dervisis – Laundry Room, plus debut London show news

Athenian producer Dervisis returns with a new 12″, Laundry Room / Yelde, a year after his debut EP, for the Trial & Error imprint on May 10th.

Influenced both his Greek, Balkans and Middle East, Dervisis’ clubland / bedroom house music seep through on title track Laundry Room. It’s leftfield club music, with a tinge of the aformentioned eastern about it as it mixes up its rhythms, as the multitude of layers Dervisis creates overlap, and change direction, sometimes subtely, sometimes with these abrupt about turns.

A year after his debut EP, Dervisis returns with a new 12’’ from Trial&Error Records to add a clubbier side to his already diverse and genre-blending sound. Dervisis’s music sits somewhere between leftfield club and bedroom pop with polyrhythms influenced by the shared culture of the Balkans and Middle East.

The EP is packed with two originals and a couple of remixes. On the flip to Laundry Room, Yelte is more percussive and slow burning, with these cut up vocals carefully arranged over the droney bassline.  Each track is remixed – Gramrcy taking on the title track while BFTT works his magic on the flip.

Following on from the release, Trial & Error are celebrating the release with a live show at Rye Wax featuring collaborator BFTT (Whities, Cong Burn, All Centre) and also Gribs (Tobago Tracks, NTS Radio) on Sunday 28th May Facebook Event • RA Event
