Brighton’s Lambrini Girls are back with two new singles, The Basement and Spilt, and they’re proving there’s more than one way to make a racket.
The explosive punk duo of Phoebe Lunny and Selin Macieira have never been ones to keep quiet, and their forthcoming second album No Refunds, out 15 January 2027 via City Slang, looks set to be their most confrontational release yet.
The Basement goes straight for the jugular, taking aim at the online manosphere and the radicalisation of disaffected young men. It’s classic Lambrini Girls territory: biting political commentary, dark humour and punk rock with plenty of teeth.
But Spilt throws a curveball. Ditching the distortion entirely, the fully acoustic track tackles alcohol dependency, revealing a more vulnerable side to a band better known for tearing stages apart.
Both tracks follow earlier singles Bang Bang Bang and Cult of Celebrity, offering another taste of an album that takes on everything from fascism and misogyny to artificial intelligence and the darker corners of modern society.
Backseat Mafia caught Lambrini Girls on their last Australian tour, where their ferocious live performances made it clear why they’ve become one of punk’s most talked-about acts. That tour saw sold-out shows across the country, including more than 2,000 tickets sold in Melbourne alone.
Since the release of their acclaimed 2025 debut Who Let The Dogs Out, the pair have barely stopped, sharing stages with IDLES, Amyl & The Sniffers and Bikini Kill, while tearing through major international festivals.
With No Refunds, Lambrini Girls are showing no signs of backing down. They’re still furious, still funny and still ready to call out everything that’s wrong with the world. Only this time, they’re prepared to turn down the volume to make their point.
