The legendary Ride have just released a new single – Future Love – off their forthcoming album ‘This Is Not A Safe Place’ due out on 16 August 2019. And as an added bonus, Ride have announced a tour of Australia and New Zealand after a 25 year absence thanks to SBM Presents.
‘Future Love’ is Ride at their best – intricate delicate guitar riffs backed by that inimitable shoe gaze wall of noise as a thumping spine, with the lush, layered vocals that distinguishes the band from their peers:
Glorious: it’s like they never left us.
The tour dates are:
Thursday 29th August – Powerstation, Auckland
Saturday 31st August – Astor Theatre, Perth
Wednesday 4th September – The Tivoli, Brisbane
Thursday 5th September – Forum, Melbourne
Friday 6th September – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Presale tickets are available from 30 April 2019 and you can get tickets from here.
Ride are Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Loz Colbert, and Steve Queralt. For the uninitiated, Ride were one of the most influential and dynamic exponents of shoe gaze in the early nineties, incandescent live performances and classic albums in “Nowhere’ and ‘Going Blank Again’. It is great to see their creative juices continue to flow.
