Track: San Mei – Heaven

Following up on her debut single “Wonder” earlier this year, Emily Hamilton, working under the name San Mei, has just released a fitting follow-up in “Heaven”.

This is a somewhat more poppy and less abrasive San Mei, yet it still has a spine of fuzz and understated distortion below the surface of synths. “Heaven” is anthemic song with hallmark blasting hook-laden choruses and a sense of compelling attitude and confidence:

Of the song, Hamilton says “Heaven’ is about when love is blind and it feels like heaven, but if you step back you can see things for what they really are. It’s about waking up to reality and letting go of something that’s going to
end up causing harm, even if at first it felt like a dream.”

The song is out now and you downlad/stream though the usual myriad of sources here. “Heaven” will be on San Mei’s forthcoming EP, also called “Heaven”.

San Mei will be touring Australia along with a few artists that have featured here on Backseat Mafia (Holy Holy and Clews) – this is not to be missed. Details are:
