The release follows the acclaim surrounding 2025’s Body Broker EP, which established the band as one of Australia’s most compelling underground prospects. Fusing the abrasive spirit of early industrial, no-wave and absurdist punk with a distinctly contemporary edge, Sex Mask have quickly built an international following, amassing more than 2.5 million streams while earning recognition from the NME 100, Dork’s Hype List and praise from DIY, Kerrang!, The Independent, The Line of Best Fit and So Young.
Comprised of vocalist Wry Gray, drummer and producer Vicente Moncada, and guitarist and synth player Kaya Martin, the trio push their sound further on ‘Raid’. Driven by muscular rhythms, jagged guitar lines and snarling vocals, the track pairs relentless momentum with increasingly prominent electronic textures, expanding into motorik grooves without sacrificing the raw immediacy that has defined the band’s work to date.
IAlongside the single, Sex Mask have unveiled two contrasting remixes. Japanese experimental outfit Violent Magic Orchestra recast ‘Raid’ as a punishing collision of industrial beats, EBM and black metal-inflected electronics, while producer B-Mo steers the song towards euphoric club territory, layering jungle rhythms and driving dancefloor energy beneath its familiar hooks.
The announcement arrives amid another landmark year for the trio. Their formidable live reputation has already seen them share stages with Fcukers, Big Special and Fat White Family, alongside appearances at SXSW Austin, SXSW Sydney, The Great Escape and Dot To Dot. A packed European summer now awaits, with performances scheduled for End Of The Road, Reeperbahn Festival, Manchester Psych Fest and a return to the continent later this year for Pitchfork Paris, as well as a newly announced Athens headline show.
