Taken from his forthcoming album on the ever brilliant Brownswood Recordings label, Doncaster artist Skinny Pelembe gets all un-Doncaster on us with his new sun soaked track and the title track from his debut album, ‘Dreaming is Dead now’.
Like his other work, it takes from a patchwork of influences, from Alice Coltrane to My Bloody Valentine, but its this dry, almost arid feel about it, as if the sun were beating down on our furrowed brow, the bubbling dubby bassline and bare, echoey backing vocals setting the scene over which this muted guitar casts its spell, and Skinny Pelembe breathes out his trippy vocals.
