SEE: The Streets’ new single ‘I Wish You Loved You …’

Mike Skinner has released the video for new track  “I Wish You Loved You As Much As You Love Him” –  the second track to be trailed from his forthcoming mixtape, None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive

The foils for Mike’s trademark declamatory delivery come in the dulcet tones of honeyed soul singer Greentea Peng and rapper Donae’o.

Mike explains “This is a summer club song. Knowing that Donae’o is the king of UK Funky music [was a] match made in heaven. Greentea Peng was the perfect foil for this; her melodies are unique and she’s wicked.

“I’ve spent the last three weeks working on the video for this one. It better be good”.

The original plan had been to release an album to showcase Mike and Murkage Dave’s TONGA night – their balloon-filled rap, grime and dubstep party, which has lit up the night from Copenhagen to Brixton; but mixtape None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive steps up instead.

Taking in UK Funky and twilight zone UK rap, the mixtape features an intriguing array of guests ranging from Australian psych overlord Kevin Parker (Tame Impala),  cult south London rapper Jesse James Solomon, and Bristol’s punk guvnors IDLES – who perform what Mike describes as a sea-shanty tinged track inspired by an overnight ferry to Dover.

Mike says with simple understatement: “it’s really just a rap duets album.”

None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive will be released by Island on  July 10th and can be pre-ordered at  https://thestreets.lnk.to/NOUAGOOTLA
