TRACKS: The Allergies – ‘Get Yourself Some’/ ‘I’m On It’: Bristol breaks coming atcha hips on 7″

BRISTOL’S technicolour party breaks outfit The Allergies are on a personal mission to make sure 2020 has some essential vibe and groove – we need it, right?

They’ve already given it the essential zizz and sass over the summer with the soul-funk groove of “Felony”, and the Cuban Brothers-guesting Latin hipswing of “Let Them Know”; but they ain’t satisfied, no siree.

They’re dropping some BIG 7″ action on October 2nd, in the shape of “Get Yourself Some” – a perfect three minutes, zero seconds of southern soul breaks, itching to get you out on the floor.

Flip your 7″ and you’ve got Dr Syntax and Skunkadelic bringing you the British rhyme flow of “I’m On It” – percussion and sax-draped science. Yumsome. Get your wax fix at The Allergies’ Bandcamp page, here.

“I’m On It” comes from The Allergies’ grooveadelic album Say the Word, which Craig Charles summed up neatly as a record that “… simply bursts with life and good times – just what we need in this current climate,” featuring as it does Ugly Duckling’s Andy Cooper, Marietta Smith, Dynamite MC and Mr Woodnote. A couple of further clicks over at Bandcamp and that can be yours, too. Right on, gurt lush.
