Exclusive: L.A. DJ/producer Death Hags records Takeover Mix for Backseat Mafia

L.A. avant-garde pop artists Death Hags, aka Lola G, recently released her new music video for Synthetic Nature, as part of her seven-volume album Big Grey Sun. It follows a couple of singles released through 2018-2019, recorded with Tomas Dolas (Mr. Elevator/Oh Sees). December 2019 saw Lola embark on her Big Grey Sun project with volume 1, it’s a constellation of seven albums, a lathe-cut 7″ series and monthly radio/sound art experiments. While vol. 2  followed in March 2020.

We’re delighted that Lola in her Death Hags guise, has recorded a takeover mix for us here at Backseat Mafia.

Check out the video below, with its slow moving, bubbling lines, spoken word lyrics and birdsong. It’s both beautiful and affecting, as well as having the ability to make you nod you head and more.

Check out the mix here, which features tracks from Death Hags herself, along with Aphex Twin, Plaid, Drexciya, Khen and Charles Murdoch. Please follow us, like, comment and share our mixes so we can continue to bring you the best in new and established producers and DJ’s.
