Exclusive: Dan Clayton records Backseat Mafia a bespoke DJ Mix

There’s something about House music that I find so attractive on a Friday night. Of course in the dim and distant past when I was not too old to look vaguely embarrassing in a night club, I went across to the Hacienda in Manchester, and Passion and outside raves and……ahem, Johnny’s in Huddersfield. And it was just that Friday night feeling that made that sort of music just sound…..right.

Coming out of Sheffield right now, is Progressive/Electro house producer Dan Clayton. He’s clearly a man on the up, having opened for Example and The PeteBox, and he’s produced a track (we featured it here) that really is a hands in the air Ibiza at some ungodly hour music.

Its called ‘took the time’ and it features the fantastic Rachel Hirons on vocals. It comes  out on 22nd April on the brand new Xenium records. You can catch Dan around the place (he’s in and around Sheffield for a couple of dates this month) and the single has been getting some radio airplay (BBC Introducing) not to mention inevitable club plays.

The really exciting thing for us is that Dan agreed to do an exclusive mix for us. Play it, like it, share it, love it. Come on – its a Friday! (*disclaimer, it might not actually be a Friday when you read this – but come on, play it and you’ll think it is)
