Tonight, the CTRL+ALT+DEL tour comes to LA at the 1720 Warehouse! Unfortunately, due to a huge underestimation on how big LA is and also how bad the traffic is (rookie mistake I know), I missed support acts Garzi and most of Point North’s set, but I was in the pit ready and waiting for Don Broco’s entrance. The guys are straight onto stage with Rob declaring he wants to see everybody jumping!

Anyone who has seen Don Broco before will know these guys give it their all and it’s a hugely energetic set from start to finish with Rob commanding the audience. ‘Gumshield’, ‘Bruce Willis’ and ‘T-Shirt Song’ were clear crowd favourites.

From early in the set there are shouts for mosh pits with guitarist Si jumping in, there’s an audience sing off during Bruce Willis, shirts swinging during T-Shirt Song and plenty of strutting and dancing from Rob Damiani. Don Broco smashed their set and next time they are back Stateside I’m sure their audience will have increased threefold! For UK fans, the boys have their headline tour in March 2023, with Papa Roach and Dance Gavin Dance as supports. Tickets available here.

Set List

Everybody

Pretty

Gumshield

MSR – Manchester Super Reds

Uber

COTLA – Come Out To LA

Action

YMK – You Wanna Know

Bruce Willis

T-Shirt Song

As the stage is being readied for the final act, quite bizarrely there’s an Abba medley playing in the background, which given the venue is full of rock/emo music fans, it’s a little strange to say the least!

As the lights dim, the crowd roars and Sleeping with Sirens drummer Matty enters stage with a quick 30 second drum solo before the remaining band members Kellin (lead vocals), Nick (Rhythm Guitar), Justin (Bass) and touring member Tony (lead guitar), join him on stage to start the set with ‘Break Me Down’. Blasting through ‘Kick Me’ and ‘Leave It All Behind’ there’s a poignant moment mid-way through the set where Kellin dedicates ‘Better Off Dead’ to anyone feeling alone, describing how he wrote this at his lowest point and asking the crowd to put their arms around whoever they are with and if they’re by their damn self to just put their arms around whoever is at the side of them.

‘Crosses’ which will feature on their new album Complete Collapse (due for release on 14th October via Sumerian Records), was well received by the crowd as was the acoustic cover of ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls. The band leave the stage after ‘If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn’ but return for the encore after screams from the fans.

The encore ends with Sleeping With Sirens classics ‘Do It Now Remember It Later’ and ‘If You Can’t Hang’. It’s been an amazing night from start to finish with mosh pits, crowd surfing, jumping, swaying and singing, as fans what more can we ask for! The CTRL+ALT+DEL tour continues in the US with a few more dates left – tickets can be purchased here.
