Track: FURS release the strangely joyous new single ‘An Eye on the Vicious’

We’ve been hanging onto FURS increasingly busy coattails for a while now, and after shoring up the lineup with the addition of bass player Amina Bates, and fresh from shows with the likes of the Allah-La’s, Ms Mr and Johnny Marr, plus an appearance on this summer’s Emerging Artists stage at Glastonbury, they’ve released details of their new single, An Eye on the Vicious, out on Monday 3rd November.

Its taken from the bands forthcoming debut album, Which was mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (The Vaccines, Johnny Marr, Temples) in NYC, recorded and produced by Liam and Olly from the band at the Crows Nest Studios in London.

The track has this sort of joyous almost mathy guitar lick at the beginning before breaking into this actually rather gorgeous, echoey pop music. It veers between both camps throughout, sugared by the similarly ethereal backing vocals and instrumentation, both of which wash over you in waves of delicious melody.

These Furs are the real thing.

Catch them at the Lexington in London on October 7th
