New Music: Iggy Azalea – Bounce (green lantern remix)

You all know Iggy Azalea, right? She shot out of New South Wales in Australia to become one of the leading hip-hop artists in the world today, signed to legendary Def Jam. In 2012 as well as releasing controversial but brilliant Pu$$y and Two Times on YouTube that immediately went viral, she’s released a couple of mixtapes, Ignorant Art and TrapGold. Last year she became the first ever female rapper to be featured on hip-hop magazine XXL’s annual Top Ten Freshman cover issue, and her debut album The New Classic is due out later in the year.

Her latest single, Bounce is a hip hop bouncer (as I believe they say) of the highest order, with Azaleas confrontational style of rapping working to great effect over this big beat backing.

The latest sounds coming out of the Azalea camp is a remix of Bounce by legendary Hip Hop DJ Green Lantern a.k.a. James D’Agostino. The former Shady employee, famed for his ‘In the lab’ series, has taken the track, ripped it apart, chopped it up and put it back together as a grimey bass track, that melts your insides and slaps you around the face at the same time.

Bounce is out on 7th July.
