Track: Wild Palms – Temper Gold

Things are getting busy with Wild Palms following their mammoth five year hiatus. A second single, Temper Gold, comes out through One Little India on 4th March, produced by Liam Howe (Lana Del Rey, FKA Twigs) and the band’s bassist Gareth Jones.

It eases its way in, stripped back with these tentative synth lines just prodding in the background, as these static chords, alongside Lou Hills angelic vocals, soar over the top. As it gradually unfurls so this sprawling percussion noodles away along with shivering chords and haunting counter melodies. It’s swathed in hushed echo without ever becoming gloomy, and delicately treads the line between emotive and beautiful.

Wild Palms will play a headline show at London’s Electrowerkz on March 8th, 2016. Tickets on sale here: https://tickets.songkick.com/events/25983708.
