New Jersey-raised and now Los Angeles–based, queer musician Anna Thoresen is back with her mesmerising new single, ‘VOODOO DOLL’. The track weaves together infectious pop hooks, the raw intensity of rock, and the emotive depth of R&B, showcasing Anna’s signature talent for storytelling and her ability to craft melodies that linger long after the music stops.

The song was born in Anna’s childhood bedroom, where the chorus and harmonies looped in her mind until she could put them down on paper. ‘VOODOO DOLL’ delves into the weariness of being mistreated in love, capturing the yearning for the other person to experience the same pain they inflicted. Completing the track in her LA home studio, Anna transformed her frustration into a powerful, cathartic anthem.

Anna shares:
“VOODOO DOLL is a song about being exhausted by mistreatment and finally wanting your partner to feel the same hurt they put you through. Writing it was an incredible emotional release for me, and I hope listeners find that same sense of catharsis in it.”
