Philadelphia-based alt-trio Caring Less make a bold return this summer with the release of their sophomore EP, ‘Whatever You Want’. Building on the momentum of their earlier teaser single ‘So Sick’, the band offers a raw, soul-stirring collection of songs that reflect both their artistic growth and their deepening presence in the local scene.
Packed with gritty textures, melancholic grooves, and hook-heavy toplines, ‘Whatever You Want’ captures the band’s signature blend of alt-pop edge and indie-rock warmth. Across the EP’s four tracks, Caring Less channel personal tension and emotional honesty, resulting in a sound that feels both immediate and unfiltered. It’s a confident step forward for the trio, who continue to build their name with unvarnished authenticity.
“We wrote the songs on the ‘Whatever You Want’ EP together to capture the tensions of love and loss that we’ve experienced individually and collectively through our mid-20’s; we brought these songs to the Philadelphia recording institution Headroom Studios to help us continue evolving our soulful and dreamy rock and roll sound,” the band shares.
Caring Less — made up of vocalist Sara Johnson, bassist Ryan Acito, and drummer Nicholas Kreh — have carved out a loyal following in their hometown thanks to their magnetic live sets and emotionally charged songwriting. Influenced by artists like Alanis Morissette and Jeff Buckley, their music reflects both a reverence for 90s alt-rock and a fresh, modern spirit.
Since forming, the trio have remained a fixture on Philadelphia’s indie circuit, regularly performing at local venues and earning spots on hometown playlists such as RSD’s ‘Homegrown Originals’. With a Northeast tour on the horizon, Caring Less have an exciting end to 2025.
