As part of their Revisionist series, Matador Records and Toronto concept punk band Fucked Up have reveals that there will be a 10th anniversary version of their titanic 78-minute masterpiece, David Comes to Life, out on a limited-edition lightbulb yellow vinyl version, available from December 10th.

There will also be a tour, with the band doing dates across North America, alongside UK dates early next year performing the album in full.

Alongside the news comes a track ‘The Truest Road’ drawn from a rarities LP that will be announced later this year. The compilation David’s Town – a companion to David Comes to Life, previously available only on vinyl – has also been made available on streaming for the first time ever. And you can watch a short documentary on the album directed by Robert Semmer HERE.

The track is all wiry guitar, and muscular, throaty vocals. It has this insatiable energy and this real sense of melody about it as it propels onwards. Essentially it’s a supercharged piece of pop music – melodies and all, and it’s a very welcome addition.

The reissue serves as the latest entry in Matador Records’ Revisionist History series, our ongoing campaign to jog the record-buying (and streaming!) public’s memory about our many catalog items now poised to celebrate a significant anniversary.

Over the course of the year, Matador will mark these anniversaries with new reissues and re-pressings. Each release will be accompanied by rare live footage, unreleased music, photos, and videos.
