News: Glasswaves Push Into Darker Territory With New Single ‘doomed:2:DIE’

SharpTone Records continues to expand its roster of rising heavy artists with the arrival of Glasswaves, the Rochester, New York trio whose collision of dark pop, alternative rock and industrial electronics is already turning heads. Marking the next step in that partnership, the band have unveiled their new single, ‘doomed:2:DIE’, a track that pushes their genre-blurring sound into even darker territory.

Built around hushed, almost hypnotic vocals and pulsing electronic textures, ‘doomed:2:DIE’ gradually unfolds before erupting into crushing breakdowns that showcase the band’s heavier instincts. The result is a song that moves effortlessly between brooding atmosphere and explosive intensity, highlighting why Glasswaves have quickly become one of the more intriguing new names emerging from the American alternative scene.

Formed in 2023, Glasswaves comprise Rich, guitarist Owen Miller and bassist Brendan Curtis. In a remarkably short space of time, the trio have developed a distinctive identity by pairing cinematic songwriting with industrial electronics, alternative rock hooks and moments of crushing heaviness. Their striking live presentation, complete with war paint-inspired visuals, has further cemented their reputation as a band intent on creating an immersive experience both sonically and visually.

That momentum accelerated throughout 2025. Winning the grand prize in the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands secured Glasswaves a coveted main stage appearance at Warped Tour, while an exhausting schedule of almost 60 shows across nearly 80 days on the road established them as one of the hardest-working emerging acts in heavy music.

With ‘doomed:2:DIE’, Glasswaves deliver another compelling statement of intent. It is a track that feels equally at home in the worlds of alternative rock, industrial music and modern metalcore, signalling that one of SharpTone’s newest signings is already thinking well beyond traditional genre boundaries.
