News: HOBOFOPO announce huge lineup for 2026 Hobart festival

The good folk at Folk ‘Til Ya Punk Records have announced a massive lineup for the 10th anniversary iteration of its’ much-loved HOBOFOPO festival, held annually in nipaluna/Hobart, lutruwita/Tasmania.

13-15th November will see all of your favourite folk, punk and folkpunk artists converge on nipaluna/Hobart for their annual pilgrimage. This years’ lineup features quite a few favourites from over the years. Many of these acts have appeared in the early years of HOBOFOPO, returning once again to maximise the ‘reunion’ feel to this 10th birthday celebration.

Joining the previously announced acts of ARIA nominated chainsaw-folk virtuosos The Crooked Fiddle Band, immortal bushrangercore folk rockers Handsome Young Strangers and the best dressed lively folk-funk outfit Gusto Gusto will be…..

MYLES BULLEN

Myles Bullen is a ukulele-playing rapper and spoken-word poet from Portland, Maine. Myles has toured nearly every state in the US as well as many European countries performing packed shows at music venues, colleges, recovery centers, prisons, festivals, and libraries. He sings songs about grief, mental health, navigating identity, relationships, and cartoon lore.

HOBOFOPO will commence Myles’ first Australian tour.

WHISKEY DRAM

Whiskey Dram is a ragtag folk collective, bringing together a crew of musical mates whose backgrounds span Irish trad, alt-country, blues, bluegrass, and punk. Winners of the 2025 Troubadour Foundation Award for Newstead Live Best High Energy Folk Act, Whiskey Dram plays hard folk for vagabonds, roustabouts and seamen.

BILLY PUNTTON AND THE MENTAL HEALTH PLAN

BP & The Mental Health Plan is Dexi Powered folk-punk-rock with big angry sad songs exclusively about mental health that you will like. Sometimes we call it ‘Trash Emo’.

CHRISTOPHER COLEMAN

Chris has toured the world, won awards, been praised by Rolling Stone, and even has an exhibit in MONA. A gardener by day, he’s released five studio albums and collaborated and performed with some of the world’s finest. His songs are of river and mountain; rare and wild.

Chris rarely performs these days, and when he does it’s usually to sold out venues, so we consider this to be a special moment for the HOBOFOPO audience.

JODIE FLANGE

Front woman of Flangipanis, the band has recently hung up its hat but Jodie lingers on. Fuelled by apathy and usually also alcohol, the songs vary in theme but retain that familiar underlying fury. Jodie has been to HOBOFOPOs in the past and has not yet been exiled, which is a remarkable feature given the sharp tongue and dark humour.
