Few modern metal bands have built a universe as immersive as Ice Nine Kills. Blurring the boundaries between heavy music, horror cinema and now gaming, the Boston outfit continue to carve out a singular space within the genre. This September, Australian fans will once again witness that vision firsthand when the band returns to support Electric Callboy on a national arena tour.
The announcement arrives alongside the release of Play Dead, a new single created in collaboration with multiplayer horror phenomenon Dead by Daylight. While the track further cements Ice Nine Kills’ unique relationship with horror culture, it is their imminent Australian return that will have local fans counting down the days.
Supporting Electric Callboy across the country, the arena run follows another landmark year for the band, who continue to expand far beyond the confines of metal. Their recent single Twisting The Knife, featuring Mckenna Grace, became the band’s first No. 1 on Active Rock Radio after appearing in Scream 7, while previous releases have featured prominently alongside Terrifier 3, Ready or Not 2 and the forthcoming Halloween: The Game.
For two decades, Ice Nine Kills have transformed songs into elaborate horror narratives, creating an interconnected mythology that extends across albums, cinematic music videos and an ever-growing cast of horror icons. Their latest collaboration with Dead by Daylight continues that evolution, introducing exclusive in-game content while reinforcing the band’s status as one of heavy music’s most imaginative creative forces.
Their live reputation has grown just as dramatically. Equal parts concert and theatrical production, Ice Nine Kills’ performances combine crushing metalcore with horror-inspired visuals, cinematic storytelling and an attention to detail that has earned them one of the most devoted fanbases in modern heavy music.
