News: Kamasi Washington announces European tour dates


Kamasi Washington has announced an extensive run of UK and European live shows. The tour will see the Los Angeles saxophonist, bandleader and composer performing some of his biggest headline shows to date – including a show at London’s legendary 3000 capacity Roundhouse venue – during a run of 26 headline shows and festival appearances shows across twelve countries in May and June.

The European tour dates will be an opportunity for fans to witness Washington bringing his much-heralded recorded output into the live arena. Following his universally acclaimed 2015 debut album The Epic, Washington released the Harmony Of Difference EP in 2017 via Young Turks. The EP, which was originally premiered as a multimedia artwork at the 2017 Whitney Biennial in New York accompanied by a film by A.G. Rojas and paintings by Kamasi Washington’s sister, Amani Washington, was hailed by the New York Times as “a liberation theology for fearsome times” and by The Guardian as “a glorious exploration of diversity
