News: Nilüfer Yanya confirms first Australian shows in seven years

Nilüfer Yanya is finally making her long-awaited return to Australia, with a run of shows confirmed for February 2026. The London singer-songwriter will perform at Sydney’s Liberty Hall, Melbourne’s 170 Russell, and as part of Perth Festival, marking her first Australian dates since her breakthrough appearances in 2019. Pre-sale tickets go live Thursday 25 September at 10am local, with general sale following on Friday 26 September at 10am.

Since emerging with her idiosyncratic guitar style and vignettes of sharp introspection, Yanya has carved a singular path. Across three acclaimed albums—Miss Universe (2019), PAINLESS (2022), and 2024’s My Method Actor—she’s become one of the UK’s most celebrated alternative voices. My Method Actor earned a “Best New Music” nod from Pitchfork and high praise from The Guardian, The New York Times, and countless others, cementing her place as one of the most vital artists of her generation.

Her July 2025 Dancing Shoes EP extended that narrative, re-working material with longtime collaborator Wilma Archer and producing standout tracks like ‘Cold Heart’—applauded by NME for its “ethereal, haunting feel”—and ‘Where To Look’, praised by Stereogum for its textured guitars and piercing vocal delivery. The release propelled Yanya to some of her biggest stages yet, including Glastonbury, All Points East and Way Out West.

Alongside her own headline tours, Yanya’s resume includes support slots for Adele, The xx, and Mitski, as well as collaborations with Bombay Bicycle Club, Sampha, King Krule and Little Dragon. She’s performed for millions on Fallon, Colbert, Later… with Jools Holland, and NPR’s Tiny Desk, proving her ability to translate her lo-fi textures and haunting melodies into arresting live moments.

Currently sharing stages with Alex G across North America and soon to join Lorde on her UK/Europe dates, Yanya is set to bring her spellbinding aura back to Australian audiences. Expect an unflinching set that spans her catalogue and shows why she’s one of Britain’s most distinctive exports.
