News: Scizzorman Return With Genre-Bending Concept Album How To Get Your Life Right With What’s Left

After a post-pandemic hiatus and an extended spell of writer’s block, Australian alternative funk-rock and psychedelic outfit Scizzorman have re-emerged with a bold new statement: How To Get Your Life Right With What’s Left, a seven-track concept album that twists through funk, glam, psychedelia, stoner rock and beyond.

Formed in late 2024, the band’s latest work arrives as a colourful and often surreal collection of observations, anecdotes and existential reflections, all seeking meaning amid an increasingly uncertain and dystopian world. Running for just over 30 minutes, the album wastes little time in transporting listeners into Scizzorman’s unpredictable sonic universe.

At the centre of the project is drummer and vocalist Terry J Vinci, whose sharp, offbeat lyrics collide with the smooth bass lines of Cody Robson and the vibrant guitar and synthesizer work of Stewart Herbertson. Distinct vocal contributions from all three members add another layer to a sound that consistently defies categorisation.

Across seven tracks, Scizzorman move effortlessly between heavy psychedelia, glam-pop melodies, stoner rock grooves, swamp blues, ambient textures and retro-inspired funk. The album’s ever-shifting musical direction somehow converges into a cohesive whole, aided by a polished and dynamic mix from seasoned sound engineer Adrian Vinci.

Drawing inspiration from artists as varied as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Frank Zappa, Arctic Monkeys, Talking Heads, David Bowie, The Beatles, The Dandy Warhols and Jimi Hendrix, Scizzorman have crafted a sound that feels both familiar and entirely their own.

Short, sharp and richly imaginative, How To Get Your Life Right With What’s Left invites listeners to embrace the unexpected, question the obvious and reconsider what matters most. In a musical landscape often dominated by formulas, Scizzorman’s return is a reminder that unpredictability can still be one of rock music’s greatest strengths.
