News: Sudan Archives Confirms 2026 Australian Tour and Shares New Music

Los Angeles-based experimental artist Sudan Archives will return to Australia in March 2026, marking her first visit since 2023. The multi-talented violinist, singer, songwriter and producer — real name Brittney Denise Parks — will perform at Perth Festival before headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, following the release of her new album The BPM earlier this year.

A single from the record, ‘COME AND FIND YOU’, is a heartfelt reflection on connection and desire — a song about “chasing a lover, seeking intimacy,” according to Parks. The track was born from a loop originally created by one of Sudan’s stylists, which she transformed into a beat in real time — a perfect example of her spontaneous, boundary-blurring approach to music-making. It follows earlier singles ‘DEAD’, ‘MY TYPE’, and ‘MS. PAC MAN’, each revealing a different shade of The BPM’s restless, shape-shifting sound.

Sudan Archives has built her reputation on reimagining the violin — an instrument often confined to classical contexts — and placing it firmly in new terrain. Fusing R&B, electronic, and West African influences, she explores rhythm and emotion through a lens that is as grounded in experimentation as it is in groove. As she once put it, she wanted to “see how a serious instrument could really bring the party,” and The BPM seems to take that philosophy to its fullest expression.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Parks taught herself to play the violin by ear before relocating to Los Angeles, where she began performing at underground clubs and crafting the bold, hybrid sound that would define her career. Since her early EPs on Stones Throw, she’s earned critical acclaim for transforming experimental textures into deeply personal pop — music that celebrates complexity, curiosity, and movement.

Her 2026 Australian dates promise an immersive live experience that blends layered strings, futuristic beats, and radiant energy — a fusion of art and rhythm that makes Sudan Archives one of the most compelling artists of her generation.
