News: Sydney and Melbourne to Host LOUD WOMEN FEST’s Explosive 2025 Lineup

LOUD WOMEN — the international feminist music movement founded in London — is set to bring its signature mix of power, politics, and punk back to Australia this December. Following a sold-out debut in 2024, LOUD WOMEN FEST AUSTRALIA 2025 expands to two cities, hitting Crowbar (Gadigal/Sydney) on 7 December and The Bergy Bandroom (Naarm/Melbourne) on 14 December.

The non-profit, trans-inclusive festival is a direct response to the male-dominated lineups that still define much of the Australian music scene. Co-led by Soph (R.U.B) in Melbourne and Kate (Second Idol) in Sydney, this year’s festival is stacked with women-led and gender-diverse punk, rock, indie, and alt acts from around the world.

International artists Bitter Tits (USA), Vagina Dry (New Zealand) and the UK’s I, DORIS — LOUD WOMEN’s London-based house band featuring founder Cassie Fox — will join an explosive lineup of Australian and Aotearoa acts including Second Idol, Hail Mary Jane, Sacred, R.U.B, Private Wives, JuliaWhy?, and The Maggie Pills.

For Fox, who started LOUD WOMEN in 2015 to fight for gender equality in music, the mission is clear: “We’re not waiting for the industry to change. We’re building our own stages, our own spaces, and our own future.” With women and gender-diverse artists still vastly underrepresented across major festivals and awards, the festival’s return feels like both celebration and resistance — a reminder that the underground continues to lead where the mainstream lags.

Part gig, part movement, LOUD WOMEN FEST AUSTRALIA 2025 is shaping up to be the loudest, boldest, and most necessary event of the summer.
