News: Wunderhorse Drop ‘The Rope’ and Set Sights on Australia

British guitar revivalists Wunderhorse have dropped new single “The Rope,” a searing cut born in the white heat of spontaneity just weeks before the band launched their biggest UK tour to date—a run that ended in triumph at Alexandra Palace and a televised debut on Later… with Jools Holland this past weekend.

Conceived and recorded in a flash at London’s RAK Studios with producer Loren Humphrey (Florence + The Machine, Arctic Monkeys), “The Rope” buzzes with the same volatile energy that pulses through Midas, the band’s 2023 album recorded at the legendary Pachyderm Studio in Minnesota—the same hallowed ground where Nirvana laid down In Utero.

Produced by Craig Silvey (The National, Arcade Fire, The Rolling Stones), new album, Midas marked a massive leap forward from their critically adored 2022 debut Cub, cementing Wunderhorse’s place in the new vanguard of British rock. The record captures the sweat and electricity of their live shows—something Australian audiences will finally get a taste of when Wunderhorse touch down for their first tour of the country this September via Handsome Tours.

With dates locked in and festival slots piling up—including Glastonbury, Green Man, Reading + Leeds, Bilbao BBK Live, TRNSMT, and Lollapalooza—it’s clear Wunderhorse aren’t slowing down. If “The Rope” is any indication, they’re tightening their grip on global stages—and Australia is next.

Stream ‘The Rope’ HERE.
