Tomorrow’s been a long time coming for the LA-based Ashlynn Malia. We’ve been backing her since the release of her debut EP back in June of 2021 – it’s been a long road, but her short-and-sweet debut album is just hours away. Before then, she has one more pre-release single to share—it might be the best song on the entire album, but there’s so much good stuff on there.

Speaking about ‘Villain’, a song which explores the aftermath of a doomed romance and the blurred lines that play with perception and skew memories of times gone by, Malia only has this to say: “Sometimes, you’re the one hurting yourself by not letting go of what isn’t for you.” We’re premiering it below; her eponymous debut MALIA follows at midnight on Jullian Records.
