Sir Archer, the renowned 6-piece supergroup hailing from Eora/Sydney, is making waves once again with their latest single, ‘Heed The Call‘. Backseat Mafia is excited to premiere this captivating blend of jazz-funk, skillfully produced by the band themselves, along with the assistance of Jackson Barclay – known for his work with artists such as Winterbourne, Vera Blue, and WANDERERS. The single is set to be released worldwide tomorrow, Friday, February 2.

The composition behind ‘Heed The Call’ is a masterful creation, characterised by its silky percussion, groovy undertones, and an enchanting balance of tension. The stripped-down arrangement allows the vocalist to shine, delivering smooth, sultry vocals that resonate with such charm. The incorporation of sweet-sounding keys and soft percussion adds so much sophistication to the track, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a candle-lit dive bar or a perfect companion for a lazy Sunday wine.

The inspiration for the single stems from a poignant late-night encounter the band had with a stranger who, in a moment of vulnerability, shared the recent loss of their father. “This moment formed the realisation that life happens quickly and time is fleeting. This song is our statement to listen to those around you. Through experiences, we grow and sometimes we wish we could teach our younger selves or even send a message of hope that time heals”, the band explains.

To celebrate the release, Sir Archer is embarking on their most extensive tour yet, the Hit ‘N’ Run tour, covering the East Coast with a series of live performances. Having already graced the main stage at renowned venues such as The Lansdowne Hotel, Waywards, Mary’s Underground, and even leaving their mark at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, the band is set to bring their curious energy to fans across the region.
