Premiere: Frank Viele ponders ‘The Trouble With Desire’ and shares ‘Lo-Fi Goodbye’

New Englander Frank Viele has a new album coming – that shouldn’t be a surprise considering his tireless work ethic. It’s not available widely until early next year (a staggering eight months away) but there will be further singles released to tide listeners over until then.

His most recent one is the excellent ‘Lo-Fi Goodbye’, which, as Viele explains, is ‘the story of a circumstantial breakup where the love strongly remains but life and unspoken self-doubt become a catalyst for a seemingly unexpected goodbye. I wanted the song to sound like Led Zeppelin was recording a James Bond theme song.’ It’s exactly as muscular as you’d expect, then – recorded in Muscle Shoals, AL, no less.

We’re premiering a lyric video for ‘Lo-Fi Goodbye’ and you can check that out below – it should be noted that pre-orders of his new record get to hear the whole thing immediately, so get on that if it takes your fancy. For everyone else, The Trouble With Desire is out Friday February 7th 2025.
