Premiere: Meanjin/Brisbane magicians Terra Pines unleash a sonic wall of brilliance in new single ‘Indoor Kid’ ahead of ‘Downbeats’, their new album.

Brisbane’s Terra Pines‘ ‘Indoor Kid’ is a sonic wall of brilliance: a track that hammers and claws its way into your head and takes permanent residence, lounging around with waft of psychedelic substances in the air. We are overjoyed to premiere this piece of aural adrenalin here at Backseat Mafia.

Clocking in to the consciousness with the harmonic resonance and shoegaze attack of bands like Ride, with a Cure like bass attack, ‘Indoor Kid’ adds a barbed-wire verve and a hyperactive buzzsaw grunt to the mix. It’s a thoroughly satisfying cathartic full frontal attack that leaves you very pleasantly discombobulated at the end:

‘Indoor Kid’ is out tomorrow (Friday, 12 August 2022) through all the usual download/streaming sites and here. The single will be on Terra Pines’ new album ‘Downbeats’ which is being released through the magnificent False Peak Records. False Peaks is celebrating its 4th birthday on 17 September with a magnificent line up of its admirable roster, many of which have featured in Backseat Mafia (including Terra Pines). See below for details.

Terra Pines will also be heading off on tour on the following dates:

30 September – Sydney
7 October – Brisbane
11 November – Ipswich
25 November – Melbourne
26 November – Adelaide

More details to come.
