Premiere: Percy reveal new video for ‘Rubbernecking in the UK’

We’ve been fond of York punks Percy for a while now, especially their recent brilliant single ‘Will of the People’, and album Seaside Donkeys, and album title that Tom Robinson recently called prophetic given all that has happened since its release in April and the notable beach crowding incidents. We’re delighted to bring you an exclusive premiere of Hot Frog Animation’s video for the third single to be taken form the album, ‘Rubbernecking in the UK’

Colin from Percy said “The  track reflects upon Alpha Plus Males and their aggressive handling of Teutonic supercars, mistaking the A19 for the Autobahn with often tragic consequences. The resulting Schadenfreude is keenly felt by mere mortals in their more homely vehicles as they behold a scene of twisted carnage. The overriding message : “Don’t drive like a twat”..”

Built on these synth foundations, Rubbernecking in the UK, (post-) punk quickly breaks out with a track that highlights the bands humour, ear for a melody, clever wordplay – including inserting beep beep yeah from The Beatles ‘Drive My Car’ into the mix, and political commentary worn firmly on sleeve that the band is quickly becoming known for.

We love it.
