Premiere: Phil Galloni is pushing his luck on ‘After the Show’; new EP arrives in May

Chicago’s Phil Galloni has been making music as Waverly Drive for a couple of years, and has been building quite the head of steam, making the kind of blown-out indie-pop that sems simple and direct on the surface with much more going on underneath.

He runs the Los Angeles studio Voltiv Sound, and it’s there that he put together the songs that form the follow-up to opening salvo EPs Living in a Fantasy & Now I Know. It’s out in about six weeks and he’s announcing it today via our premiere for ‘After the Show’, a song that Galloni describes as being ‘inspired by the communal activity of going to shows with friends or significant others, how it brings us together, and elevates our energy and mood. The song explores a relationship falling out and is about making up after the show.’

Stream it below, and keep your eyes peeled for the Push My Luck EP, landing as a self-release on Friday May 10th.
