Premiere: Phil Galloni goes too far on title track from forthcoming new EP ‘Push My Luck’

A few weeks back, the Los Angeles-based Chicagoan Phil Galloni announced his third EP as Waverly Drive, and he’s sharing the collection’s second single today. The title track from Push My Luck is a great example of the sort of scuzzy indie pop Galloni excels at; the foundations of his sound were laid on previous EPs Living in a Fantasy and Now I Know, and his forthcoming new EP is arguably his best stuff yet.

Per Galloni, ‘Push My Luck’ more or less speaks for itself: “The song is about pushing your luck too far, especially with a significant other, and coming to regret it. We often show not only our best sides to our significant others, but also our worst, and this song explores that paradox with the gut hope that it will still work out in the end regardless because of the bond of love.”

It’s out tomorrow, but we’re premiering it up front; tune in to ‘Push My Luck’ below and keep an eye out for the full EP’s arrival on Friday May 10th.
