Taken from the forthcoming album ‘Polymnia’out on April 24th, Receive is the new track from Sailing Stones, aka Jenny Lindfors, and a we’re delighted to be premiering it right here on Backseat Mafia. Of the track, she told us “This was the first song I wrote when I moved to London, totally alone and not really knowing anybody there. I was in contact with someone who I couldn’t get to physically who was thousands of miles away, and this song was my way of trying to reach them over the distance.
It’s a unabashed love song, over dripping piano lines and chords, until it opens out, flowering into this piece of perfect folk pop, complete with instantly memorable melodies. Lindfors vocal over the top is soft and warm, as the accompaniment becomes more involved with brushes of guitar and shards of synths punctuating the calm, it still retains its elegance and beauty.
