Future soul artist Thabo has announced his new, third, EP ‘Your Mama’ is coming out on CD, limited edition vinyl, download or stream on May 4th 2018. From it we’re very pleased to premiere the track ‘Hey Mama’, with Zimbabwean born / Huddersfield residing Thabo saying, “This song is about your mama – your real mama!”
There’s some of the African hi-life in the track, but its souled up and funked out along with it. Thabo’s vocal pleads and cajoles over the top of this retro electro backing, brushed up with these splashes and cascades of synth lines and this quasi-prince guitar line that drops in and out. Blessed with a singalong chorus and crystal clear production, Thabo is a man on the rise.

THABO has just completed UK tours supporting Seal and Zara McFarlane. He launches ‘Your Mama’ at Vinyl Tap, Huddersfeld on Saturday 5th May at 2pm and Rough Trade East, London on Wednesday 9th May at 7pm. Headline shows to be announced soon…
