‘Sit Still’, the latest single release via Conch Town Records comes from Key West singer-songwriter Tony Baltimore and we’re lucky enough to be running the premiere!

An artist with a reputation for his amazing work ethic and drive, Tony Baltimore is out playing shows up to 8 times a week both solo and with his five-piece band. Doing Baltimore’s love of performing live justice, the single is simplistic yet hugely effective – there’s no studio trickery involved, just Tony and his band rocking out a song that feels like a mix of Rolling Stones topped with Julian Casablancas-esque biting, sarcastic, subtly humorous lyricism.

Taken from the upcoming album ‘Let’s All Go Insane, ‘Sit Still’ is a great representation of the sharp songwriting that the artist has become known for and gives an exciting insight into what can be expected from the upcoming 11-track release.

Speaking on how ‘Sit Still’ came about, Tony explains:

“Sit Still is really just a silly, tongue-in-cheek song that when we started recording it I thought sounded like an early 70’s Rolling Stones mimic. When I first wrote it I never expected it to be on a record at all but here it is as a single!”

Built around a backdrop of big, beefy guitar riffs, Baltimore’s effortlessly charismatic lead vocal takes centre stage. Surrounded by some pinpoint backing vocals courtesy of Marjory Lee that enter mid-way through the chorus, ‘Sit Still’ kicks into gear, accentuating the already electric energy captured within the recording, an energy that feels as though you’re standing in a bar watching Tony and his band smash out the song during a live set. There’s an overwhelming sense within the track that Tony is having a brilliant time, truly enjoying the music he is making, it’s joyous to hear.

Produced by Ian Shaw (Portugal. The Man, Barb Jungr) and released by Conch Town Records ‘Sit Still’ is released everywhere tomorrow.
