Norwegian singer-songwriter Anna of the North has released a new version of her track Dream Girl, along with a new video. You might recognise the track was in the Global Apple iPad Pro commercial earlier in the year, and in less than a week was charting on iTunes in over 30+ Countries, Daily Spotify Streams doubled, and overall streaming increased 187%.
For this version, she’s stripped it right back and the version was included on the limited yellow vinyl version of the Dream Girl album, released for the #LoveRecordStores campaign. This version of the track is somewhat stripped of its drive, instead sauntering along, allowing the melancholy, beauty and hope that permeates the track to wash together into something thats almost heartstopping.
The video sees Anna in the flesh – celebrating her Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy Award) win, solo dance parties and moments of reflection, In other words Anna’s everyday life in Norway.
