Returning with her first new music in 18 month, Singer-songwriter, actor and activist Kate Nash’s brand new single is the bittersweet ‘Misery’. Of the song, which focuses on the feelings of quarantine, Kate says “I definitely went through depression. For the most part of the year, I just didn’t have the energy and I was kind of lethargic and very lacklustre. Rather than fighting that, I leaned into it. It’s about the trauma: the trauma of everything changing.”

The release comes as Kate announces her ‘safely out of the bedroom’ tour, as she’s in the middle of a Covid-secure road trip across the United States, armed with nothing but here partner and their two dogs, Stella and Vlad. People who subscribe to her Patreon will be able to tap into live streams, be granted full access to the “safely out of the bedroom” tour and get a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes process.

As usual with Kate’s music, Misery is smart, sometimes sassy, sometimes thoughtful pop music full of tunes and bursting with ideas, with arching, aching strings, but bubbling pop sensibilities underneath it all. Over the top of everything is Nash’s warm instantly lovable vocal.
