See: Søren Lorensen release new video for Swallow

What happens when a musician like Matt Hales, he of Aqualung, who in their (well, his) past has created some of the most devastating beautiful and poignant pop music, both in his ht and for others including Lianne La Havas amongst others, meets Davide Rossi, who’s worked with everyone from Goldfrapp to Karl Heinz Stockhausen? Well, judging by new single from their project Soren Lorensen, ‘Swallow’, something rather magical.

Swathed in Rossi’s delicate and beautiful string arrangements, that blend and merge together and give the track ultimately its pace and mood, Hales brings his perfect bedroom pop to bear over the top.

Check out the rather lovely and affecting accompanying video, made by illustrator Marc Corrigan who expertly pairs the music with a bleak story of a car crash and subsequent recovery – always focusing on the smaller, incidental moments and finding meaning there, below
