Acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist Jenny Colquitt releases the new single ‘Peace Man’. The track offers a first glimpse into the forthcoming album, ‘Pockets Full of Rain’, due for release 1st May.
Having already established herself as one to watch with ongoing support from RnR Magazine, named FATEA ‘Female Artist of the Year’ (2021/2022) and winning the GSMC Award for Best Female Solo Singer/Songwriter (2020/2021), her blend of indie folk, rock, and pop has drawn comparisons to the melodic richness of Eva Cassidy and the raw intensity of Alanis Morissette.
‘Peace Man’ is a great example of this bringing radio ready melodies, a driving energy and an emotional sincerity. punchy drums, swelling organs and strummed acoustics capture the feel of a live performance. Colquitt’s captivating vocals top the track elegantly, moving between the gentle delivery, and suspense building of the verse, to soaring melodies in the infectious chorus.
Inspired by a real-life encounter experienced by a close family member, the lyrics navigate themes of faith, love, grief, and manipulation, delivering a hard-hitting yet humorous narrative. Produced by David Gorst (Alibi Productions) and co-performed with him, the single is described as a hit back at using grief to manipulate a situation for personal gain, showcasing Jenny’s talent for lyrical vulnerability and infectious musicality.]
With support from BBC Radio 2 and spots at prestigious UK festivals including Glastonbury, Cornbury, Cambridge Folk, and Beardy Folk, Jenny is an artist with a lot success already under her belt, and undoubtably more milestones to come.
To coincide with the release of ‘Pockets Full of Rain’, Jenny will embark on an eight-date UK tour across intimate venues in May and June 2026, with performances in Chester, Birmingham, Guildford, Liverpool, and Sheffield. Tickets are available via her official website.
