Future State are an electronic trip hop duo from southern edge of the world in Tasmania, and their sound is suitably chill and Antarctic with its combination of thundering percussion, saxophone and lush synth layers.
In their new single ‘Serve Yourself’, singer Ally Oliver’s voice recalls Portishead’s Beth Gibbons with its extraordinary range and distant observational style. ‘Serve Yourself’ is out now and available to download and stream via all the usual sites.
‘Serve Yourself’ was recorded at Future State Studios, a boutique recording studio located in Hobart, Tasmania and was produced by Cam with final touches and contributions from Jack Garzonio, producer and engineer at Sydney’s Studios 301, and member of Cone of Confusion. The track was mixed by Richard Belkner at Free Energy Device Studios in Sydney.
Future State will be releasing their debut album on 18 February. You can pre-order the album through the link below.
